There is a difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament. It's more a change in the thought process. In the OT we learn we are to serve God, you see in the NT that as Jesus, Paul, Peter, and others speak, we are no longer in service to Him, because He is our King and Lord, but because He is our father. Perfection in the OT was commanded, and, while it still is in the NT, it stops being an obligation and becomes something that we want to do. Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable (3050 rational “logical”) service. It is logical that we should want to live for the God who died on a cross for us, who went to Hell for us. Have you ever thought about the OT and how there were so few
that served God. Ever wondered why? We have something now that they didn't have back then. We have Christ living in us, we have God's Spirit dwelling in us. Through this power we
are able to live a perfect life, through the power and indwelling of the Almighty Living God. These scriptures are just meant to show you that perfection is a Biblical truth, there is so much more about sanctification, holiness, and perfection, but the purpose here is so you can see what God wants us to be after we are saved. It's your choice. |

Genesis 17: 1 “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I [am] the Almighty GOD, walk before ME, and be you perfect (8549, entire, without blemish or spot, complete, undefiled, whole).” 2 Samuel 22:33 ‘GOD [is] my strength [and] power, and HE makes my way perfect (8549, entire, without blemish or spot, complete, undefiled, whole).’ 2 Chronicles 16:9 ‘For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show HIMSELF strong in the behalf of [them] whose heart [is] perfect (8003, complete (literally or figuratively); especially friendly. (shalem used by mistake for a name.): - full, just, made ready, peaceable, perfect (-ed), quiet, Shalem [by mistake for a name], whole) toward HIM…' Psalms 18:30 ‘As [for] GOD, HIS way [is] perfect (8549, entire, without blemish or spot, complete, undefiled, whole) the WORD of the LORD is tried, He [is] a buckler to all those that trust in Him. Psalms 101:6 ‘MY eyes [shall be] upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with ME. He that walks in a perfect way (8549, entire, without blemish or spot, complete, undefiled, whole), he shall serve ME.” Matthew 5:48 ‘Be you therefore perfect (5046, complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.), even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (5046, complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.). Phillipians 3:15-16 ‘Let us therefore, as many as be perfect (5046, complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.) be this minded (5426, mentally opinionated,
thinking) and if in any thing you are otherwise minded, (5426, mentally opinionated, thinking) GOD shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, (5348,
beforehand, already, have arrived) let us walk (4748, to conform to virtue and piety [HIS
holiness]) by the same rule (2583, standard) let us mind (5426, mentally opinionated, think) the
same thing. Yes the WORD of GOD said that! Colossians 1:28 ‘Whom we preach, warning every (one), and teaching every (one) in all wisdom, that we may present every (one) perfect (5046, complete (in various applications of labor, growth,
mental and moral character, etc.) in Christ Jesus.’ 2 Timothy 3:17 ‘That the man of GOD may be perfect (739, fresh, by implication, complete)thoroughly furnished unto all good works (deeds).’ Hebrew 10:14 ‘For by one offering He [YESHUA, Jesus] has perfected (5048 to complete, that is, (literally) accomplish, or (figuratively) consummate (in character): - consecrate, finish, fulfil, (make) perfect.) forever them that are sanctified. (37, set aside in holiness and purity).’ **HE PERFECTED THOSE WHO BELIEVE! HE SAID HE DID!** Hebrews 13:21 ‘Make you perfect (2675 to complete thoroughly, that is, repair (literally or figuratively) or adjust: - fit, frame, mend, (make) perfect (-ly join together), prepare, restore.) in
every good (deed) to do HIS will, working in you that which is well pleasing in HIS sight,
through Jesus Christ, to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen Hebrews 10:10 ‘…we are sanctified (37, to make holy, pure, set apart) through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for ALL!” |
